Project Value: £19k
Sector: Education
Service: Resuraficing
Works Included: Re-surfacing of entrance and car park

Project Overview

Higham Roofing & Construction was appointed to carry out essential resurfacing works at Oundle Primary School. With daily access and safety a priority, the school’s main entrance and car park required upgrading to ensure a safe, smooth, and long-lasting surface for staff, pupils, and visitors.

Scope of Works

Access Management
The works were carefully scheduled to minimise disruption to the school day, with clear signage, barriers, and phased access routes implemented throughout the project.

Surface Preparation
Existing tarmac and loose surface materials were removed, and the area was prepared with a new sub-base to provide a stable foundation for resurfacing.

New Tarmac Installation
A high-performance tarmacadam surface was laid across the entrance and car park area, designed to withstand regular vehicle use and variable weather conditions. The works enhanced drainage and improved safety underfoot for pedestrians.

Finishing & Line Marking
Once the surface had cured, all necessary markings were reinstated, including bay lines and directional arrows to aid with vehicle flow and safety.

Outcome

Despite the relatively modest scale of the project, the works have made a visible and practical difference to Oundle Primary School’s day-to-day operations. Delivered on time and to budget, the upgraded entrance now provides a safer and more professional welcome to the school site.
