Project Overview

Higham Roofing & Construction was appointed as the main contractor to deliver the full fit-out of a newly built timber frame extension at Mark Rutherford School. The works formed part of the school’s wider development plan to expand capacity and upgrade facilities for staff and students alike.

Scope of Works

Electrical & Heating Installation
The internal fit-out began with a full electrical installation, designed to meet the requirements of a modern educational setting. A VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) heating system was also installed to provide energy-efficient climate control throughout the new space.

Drylining & Flooring
Internal walls were drylined and prepared to a high finish, ready for decoration. Durable flooring systems suitable for high-traffic school environments were laid across classrooms and corridors.

External Finishes
Externally, the timber frame structure was completed with a render and cladding package, providing both weather protection and a clean, contemporary appearance that complements the school’s existing architecture.

Outcome

Delivered on time and within budget, the project provided Mark Rutherford School with a bright, functional and energy-efficient extension—ready for immediate use. Higham’s experienced team ensured all works were completed safely and to the highest standard, with minimal disruption to the live school environment.
