Established in 1982 Higham wanted to celebrate 40 successful years with those who have been and still are involved with the business. It was wonderful to see employees and operatives both past and present alongside suppliers and clients all of whom play a part in Higham’s story. It was decided to hold two events, the first being a family fun day and the second a more formal evening celebration.
The Higham team wanted to give a little back to the community and it was decided to run a raffle at each event and donate the proceeds to charity. Niamh’s Next Step and Air Ambulance were the charities chosen.
A family fun day was held on a blistering hot summers day. Fun entertainment for the day was provided by Novel Events in the form of a rodeo bull, penalty shootout, fair ground stalls, bungie run amongst other items. Food was provided by Potters Butchers and the Serious Dough Co. with sweet treats from Sweet Futures and Ice Cream from Salvator’s Gelato.
An evening celebration was held in the autumn. A champagne reception with Romanza String Quartet providing background music, a three-course meal. A silent auction was run with some amazing prizes and all proceeds going to Niamh’s Next Step. The evening was hosted by Tim Clark who provided amusement with the running of heads and tails and a short comedy set. The evening was rounded off with dancing to the live band Candy Jam and some friendly competition on the casino tables.
Sound, lighting and photography for both events was kindly supplied by A Teck
