Term Time re roofing project, at a School In Bexley Heath in line with the IKO Specification No. BUR1447.2016
The works incorporated a 20 year insurance backed warranty and was undertaken during Term Time with no disruption to the normal working day of the school.
Sessions House, Maidstone, Kent
Higham Roofing were awarded the role of Principal Contractor and successfully refurbished the roof areas of Sessions House, home to the Kent County Council.
The project ran smoothly, with the client extremely pleased with the results upon it’s completion.
Higham Roofing provided the client with a report on what needed to be done to waterproof each roof area with consideration to maintaining the aesthetics of the building.
Higham Roofing acted as Principal Contractor and have successfully refurbished various roof areas of the Benett Building which is the home to the Biology and Geography Department of the University of Leicester specified by Esha Reinforced Bitumen Membranes. The works incorporated a FOC 25 year insurance backed warranty.
Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge
Higham Roofing have refurbished 6 roofs on the key worker accommodation blocks at Addenbrookes’s Hospital in Cambridge specified by Icopal, world leaders in roofing and structural waterproofing. The works incorporated a FOC 20 year IMA contractor insurance backed warranty. The existing roof system consisted of concreted deck, asphalt waterproofing, chippings to field areas and solar reflective coatings to exposed details. Ingress had posed a concern for a number of years, with the vast majority of defects evident to slumping abutment details blisters stress cracks were prominent to flat areas also.
George Porter Building, University of Leicester, Leicester
Higham Roofing acted as Principal Contractor and have successfully refurbished various roof areas of the George Porter Building which is the home to the Chemistry Department of the University of Leicester specified by Esha Reinforced Bitumen Membranes. The works incorporated a FOC 20 year insurance backed warranty.
Chesham Fire Station, Buckinghamshire
Higham Roofing Limited has recently refurbished the Chesham Fire Station main roof area specifying the Alumasc Euroroof membrane system which comes with a 25 year backed up warranty.The Fire Station in Chesham, Buckinghamshire is a 2 story high building that is of metal cladding and glass construction. To gain access for the original survey Higham Roofing used their own Cherry-Picker.
St Marks Skill Centre, Tresham College, Daventry Roofing System
The St Marks Skill Centre at the Tresham College in Corby first approached us with serious problems of a failing roof and also the acoustics within their building. The structure consisted of a profiled metal deck roof over a large open workshops. The client’s requirements were to resolve these problems. Higham Roofing undertook an extensive investigation and discovered that the original roof was metal profiled deck sheet with fibreboard and 3 layers of felt which had been unsuccessfully overlaid 2 years ago and was close to the end of its lifespan. The fibreboard content gave no insulation value and this also needed attention.
Stamford Endowed School, Gymnasium Roof - 2012
Higham Roofing in conjunction with their partner suppliers were called in to provide a long term solution to the problem and also provide 4 new triple skin insulated rooflights. Working closely with our client and suppliers we provided a 25 year insurance backed specification. And also provided a specification to replace the existing glass roof lights with double skin insulated polycarbonate rooflights.
Sealed Air, Kettering - Permanent Walkway Systems
For a large and prestigious organisation such as Sealed Air, health and safety are of key importance and this factor had to be taken into consideration in the regular cleaning activities of three large extractor vents. Our company was required to provide safe regular access to the vents and also to two other metal roof areas.
Sealed Air, Kettering - Rooflights & Asbestos Replacement Programme
Our client had a common problem for which they needed an economical solution with minimum hassle and no interruption of the production at their factories, whilst works were being carried out. The main priority of this roofing project was to prevent any further ingress of water into the building. The original roof was made from asbestos cement fibre sheeting. Our client had persistent issues of water ingress caused by severely delaminated rooflights and numerous cracked and defective asbestos cement fibre sheets. This was also compounded by the fact that, the rooflights had become opaque and dirty due to their age related deterioration which as a consequence made the building internally very dark.
